Terms of Service

The terms on which this website and the salary sacrifice calculator are made available to you.

Last updated: 20 August 2026

1. Use of this website

By accessing or using salary-sacrifice-calculator.co.uk, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website.

The website is provided free of charge for personal and informational use. There is no account to create and no payment required. You may use the calculator and read the guidance as often as you like.

You agree not to

  • Use the website for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that could damage, disable or impair it
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its server or any connected system
  • Use automated systems to scrape, copy or overload the website in a way that affects its availability for others
  • Reproduce the calculator or substantial parts of the site’s content as your own

2. The calculator produces estimates

The salary sacrifice calculator is an estimation tool. It applies published UK tax rates and thresholds to the figures you enter, using standard annual PAYE assumptions and a standard tax code.

It is not a payroll system and it does not produce a payslip. Results are indicative and are intended to help you understand the general shape of an outcome, not to tell you what your employer will actually pay you.

Your actual payroll result may differ, sometimes materially, because of factors the calculator cannot see. These include your real tax code, your pay frequency, mid-year changes to pay or circumstances, other income, other taxable benefits, pension allowance limits and the specific rules and fees of your employer’s scheme.

3. Accuracy limitations

We take reasonable care to use correct rates and thresholds and to explain the rules accurately. However, we do not warrant that the content of this website is complete, current or free from error.

Tax rules change. Rates, thresholds and allowances are set by government and can be amended at a Budget or other fiscal event, and Scotland sets its own Income Tax bands separately from the rest of the UK. There may be a period between an announced change and this website being updated to reflect it.

Where a future change has been announced but has not yet taken effect, we describe it and date it clearly rather than applying it to the current tax year’s calculation.

If you believe a figure or explanation on this site is wrong, please tell us through the contact page. We would rather fix an error than leave it in place.

4. No financial or tax advice

Nothing on this website is financial advice, tax advice, legal advice or a personal recommendation. We are not authorised to give financial advice, and we do not do so.

The content is general information published for a wide audience. It cannot take account of your personal circumstances, objectives or financial position, and it should not be relied on as though it had.

This website is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by HM Revenue & Customs or any government department. Our full position is set out in the Disclaimer.

5. Your responsibility

Decisions about salary sacrifice are yours, and they can have long-term consequences for your pension, your statutory entitlements and your borrowing capacity.

Before acting on anything you read here, you should verify your position with the people who can see your actual circumstances: your employer or payroll provider, your pension provider or scheme administrator, official HMRC guidance, and where appropriate a qualified tax or financial professional.

You are responsible for the figures you enter into the calculator and for any decision you take. Entering inaccurate figures will produce an inaccurate estimate.

This website links to external sites, including GOV.UK, so that you can read official guidance at its source. Those links are provided for convenience and information only.

We have no control over the content, availability or practices of any external website, and a link does not imply endorsement or any association with the operator of that site. We accept no responsibility for the content of external websites or for any loss arising from your use of them.

7. Intellectual property

The content of this website, including the written guidance, page design, layout and the calculator itself, is owned by or licensed to the operator of this website and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.

You may view the site, print pages and quote short extracts for personal, non-commercial use, provided the source is acknowledged. You may not republish substantial parts of the content, copy the calculator, or present the material as your own work without permission.

Tax rates, thresholds and other figures published by government are not our property. Where we reproduce official information we do so as factual data, and you should treat GOV.UK as the authoritative source.

8. Changes to the service and these terms

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the website, including the calculator, at any time and without notice. We do not guarantee that the website will be available uninterrupted or error free.

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version published on this page at the moment you use the website is the version that applies. The “last updated” date above will change when the terms are revised, and continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the revised terms.

9. Limitation of liability

The website and the calculator are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind except those that cannot be excluded by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or the calculator. This includes loss of income, loss of pension value, additional tax liability, loss of profit or any indirect or consequential loss, however it arises.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of this website.

11. Contact

For any question about these terms, you can email us at [YOUR CONTACT EMAIL] or use the contact page.
