Before you write

For personal tax or payroll decisions, verify your circumstances with your employer, payroll provider or qualified professional.

We cannot review your payslip, confirm what your take-home pay will be, tell you whether salary sacrifice is right for you, or advise on your employer’s scheme. Those questions need someone who can see your full circumstances, and we are not able to give financial or tax advice.

What we can help with

  • A rate, threshold or figure on the site that looks incorrect
  • A bug in the calculator, or a result that does not look right
  • Something in an explanation that is unclear or hard to follow
  • A suggestion for something the site should cover

What we cannot help with

  • Personal tax, payroll or financial advice
  • Whether you should join your employer’s scheme
  • Queries about your own tax code, payslip or HMRC account
  • Disputes with an employer, pension provider or scheme administrator
